CH Gopalakrishna played Combined West Godavari District Rapid & Blitz Chess Championship 2022 on board 1 of the open section in order to lose against B. Dharmik, who needed a draw to win the tournament, however, Gopalakrishna who was playing white had other plans. In semi-slav, white got a slight edge, maintaining the pressure till endgame, forced Ram Srikar to make a mistake, and converted to a full point on move 51.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With 5 players tied for 2nd place, Gopalakrishna, unfortunately, had a lower tie break and had to be content with the 5th place while B Dharmik of Eluru won the event.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

District Champion S Shawnell Raj won a wonderful event gaining 3 points, while in the girl’s section S Lebona Raj had 4.5 points and 10th place in the tournament.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The closing ceremony was held after the final round and the top 10 players in both sections were awarded trophies And Sificates, while the top 3 prize winners got additional medals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
