Rama Sreekar, Nischala win SAAP League Chess.

Naga Udaya and Saranya Naidu secured second places in men’s and women’s categories, respectively

Yeleswarapu Rama Sreekar (7 points) from Eluru district and Y Nischala (6.5 points) from NTR district have won the Sports Authority of Andhra Pradesh (SAAP) League Chess Championship in the men’s and women’s categories, respectively. The League was held at the Indira Gandhi Municipal Corporation (IGMC) Stadium in Vijayawada on Sunday.

The one-day SAAP League Chess Championship evoked a good response from chess players and around 250 players from the combined East Godavari, West Godavari, Krishna, and Guntur districts participated in the tournament. The SAAP conducted the Tournament with the support of the Andhra Chess Association.

In the seven-round chess tournament, Rama Sreekar secured seven points by winning all seven rounds and acquired first place in the men’s category, while Y Nischala won 6.5 points by winning six Rounds and, drawing one round and emerged as the women’s champion.

From the Eluru district, Y. Premi Rakshitha (5 points) and Swrnala Lebona raj (4 points) stood in first and second positions in the Under ages U-8women’s categories, respectively.

From the Eluru district, in the Under ages U-10 men category, Praneeth M (Adithya Kid’s Satrampadu) and Naishadh D (VKCAcademy under-10, Eluru District), won 4 points and emerged 1st place.

Lalit Aditya V (Adithya Kid’s Satampadu) won 3 points and emerged in 2nd place.

NTR District Sports Authority (DSA) Chief Coach Azeez, his coaches, and Chess Association Secretary Tummappudi Naga Uday Rajeev, National Chess Arbitor Smt. K Swetha Nagaveni, and Mr. Kiran Kumar, supervised the tournament.

Later, the Closing ceremony Done by the Andhra Pradesh Planning Board Chairman and Vijayawada Central MLA Malladi Vishnu, SAAP Vice Chairman and Managing Director Dr. N Prabhakar, Reddy presented prizes to the top-5 winners in both men’s and women’s Under age categories sections.

NTR DSA Boxing Coach Ishaq. Tennis coach Y Sivaramakrishna, Eluru District Chess Coachs Mr. Kiran Kumar, (VKCAcademy Director), Mr. John Wesley (AGCAcademy Director), Mr. Mahesh (Director Pream Jyothi Acadamy Eluru,) and Weightlifting coach Swamy participated in the tournament.
