*MTCA Venkatesh and Sumathi Shanbhag 3rd Edition Rolling Trophy All India Open Rapid Rating Chess Tournament – 2024*

The Mormugoa Taluka Chess Association (MTCA) is pleased to announce the 3rd edition of the Venkatesh and Sumathi Shanbhag Rolling Trophy, an All India Open Rapid Rating Chess Tournament, set for 2024. A technical meeting was held on Friday at 8:00 pm at St. Theresa’s Hall, presided over by Shri. Kishor Bandekar, President of MTCA. The key discussions and decisions made during the meeting are as follows:

Opening Ceremony and Tournament Arrangements*: The opening ceremony will take place tomorrow at 9:30 am. All necessary preparations for the tournament have been finalized. Pairings and Inauguration*: Pairings will be conducted before the inauguration. All participants are required to adhere to the tournament’s rules and regulations. Arbiter Duties and Player Facilities*: The roles and responsibilities of the arbiters, as well as the facilities available for players, were discussed in detail. The team of arbiters includes:
Chief Arbiter: IA Sanjay Kavlekar
Deputy Chief Arbiters: FA Swapnil Hoble and Tanishq Kavlekar.
Field Arbiters: SNA Kiran Kumar Paluri, Andhra Pradesh. Mr. Pushpashil Satardekar, Mr. Deepak Gawas, Mr. Pundlik Nayak, Mr. Avijit Raj
Pairing Arbiter*: SNA Tanishq Kavlekar
Result Arbiters: 3

FIDE ID and AICF Renewal*: Players with inactive FIDE IDs must renew their All India Chess Federation (AICF) membership before the first round to participate. Round Schedule*: The tournament will consist of a total of 9 rounds, with 4 rounds on the first day and 5 rounds on the second day. The time control is set at 25 minutes plus a 10-second increment from move one.                                                                            Lunch and Parent Waiting Hall Arrangements*: Comprehensive arrangements have been made for player lunches and a designated waiting hall for parents.
