Sri Venkatapathiraju Educational Society’s 1st Intra School Chess Tournament: A Resounding Success!
On November 13, 2024, Sri Venkatapathiraju Educational Society hosted its inaugural Intra School Chess Tournament at Sai Rakesh E.M.H.School, Gavaravaram, Koyyalagudem. This Children’s Day special event saw an overwhelming participation of 200 talented young chess players.
Tournament Highlights:
- Inaugurated by School Principal Mr. Y. Ashok Kumar, who made the ceremonial first move (D4) to kick-start the tournament.
- Players were divided into three categories: Sub-Junior, Junior, and Senior.
- Each category had 5 rounds of thrilling competition.

Sub-Junior Girls:
- Kavya R (1st Place)
- Jagruthi (2nd Place)
- Keerthana (3rd Place)
Junior Category:
- Sai Veera Ganesh G (1st Place)
- Mahidhar B (2nd Place)
Consolation Prize: Hema Sri Varma K
Senior Category:
- Sathwik S (1st Place)
- Yakubshah SK (2nd Place)
A Record-Breaking Event:
This tournament marked the largest chess competition ever held in the Koyyalagudem zone.
The prize distribution ceremony took place on November 14, 2024. School Secretary & Correspondent Mr. Raj Gar G, Chairperson Mrs. Subhadra Devi Garu, Principal Y. Ashok Kumar Garu, and school staff distributed certificates and prizes to the winners.
